After completing the texting bot, this system is ready for testing. That was a bear to create but in early testing it is working well. It ends up creating a proper flow for signup/stop/restart was much more difficult then I thought it would be.
This first release allows SMS/Text messages for the West County and Sonoma County regions. Every regional area that will support text messages will get its own unique phone number. This will allow people to come and go as they please to various types of notifications. If I've learned one things from helping create Watch Duty, people want options. This allows for lots of various options. I'm not currently allowing texting from the Country bot purely because of expenses. Texting is expensive and those monitors fire often through the day. If people want notifications for those they can use Discord. If this project ends up getting funding down the road, maybe this can change.
I need to complete the manual bot so we can put in emergency notifications that aren't auto curated. That is a high priority now.
